Jobs digest: moves and promotions at King, Scopely, Loom, Funday, Tactile, Zynga and more

Multiple gaming companies announced significant personnel changes, with Scopely making high-profile hires and King promoting from within its ranks.

Scopely welcomed back Chase Shi as VP and head of game product, marking his return after five years at Blizzard where he built considerable gaming industry expertise. The company also hired Jonathan Marcelino as director of product for the popular mobile title Monopoly Go, bringing him from Ritmo Games in Berlin where he spent 14 years helping establish the Voodoo-owned studio as a notable development house.

Meanwhile, King announced two significant internal moves. Andreas Jansson was promoted to senior director of engineering after just one year serving as director of engineering, signaling the company’s recognition of his technical contributions. The studio also announced the return of Borja Guillan as senior creative director, reshaping its creative and engineering leadership structure.

These moves reflect the fluid nature of talent circulation across the gaming industry, with experienced leaders frequently moving between studios and progressing to increasingly senior roles. The focus on product strategy and creative direction suggests both Scopely and King are prioritizing strategic positioning for their game portfolios.
