Rockstar Games Is Taking Down Footage and Images of Scrapped GTA 5 DLC And Early Version of Leaked GTA 6 Map

Take-Two Interactive, parent company of Rockstar Games, has initiated takedown actions against videos and posts containing leaked Grand Theft Auto content. The leaked files, which surfaced recently, originated from the 2022 security breach that previously exposed early GTA 6 footage.

The leaked materials include cut dialogue from GTA 5 that suggests alternative story paths, including a darker ending for protagonist Franklin. More significantly, the leak reveals details about an ambitious but ultimately scrapped Liberty City expansion planned for GTA 5, representing substantial development work that never reached players. Early versions of the GTA 6 map from the leaked materials are also subject to removal notices.

While these files had circulated in rumor form within gaming communities for years, this marks their first widespread public emergence. The leaked materials offer a rare glimpse into Rockstar’s development decisions, abandoned content, and the scope of projects shelved during GTA 5’s extended post-launch period.

Take-Two’s enforcement action reflects standard practice in protecting unreleased and proprietary content. The takedowns target video platforms and social media where community members shared and discussed the materials. This incident continues a pattern from the 2022 hack, which fundamentally altered how early GTA 6 content entered the public consciousness.
