Marvel Unveils Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2 Prequel Comic
Marvel’s animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will return for Season 2 on Disney+ in early 2027, with Marvel Comics supporting the release by launching a prequel comic in December 2026. The comic is designed to bridge the narrative gap between Season 1 and Season 2, exploring a new conspiracy within Oscorp that emerges following Norman Osborn’s downfall in the first season. This cross-media storytelling approach mirrors Marvel’s strategy with the animated series X-Men ‘97, which similarly uses comics to expand storylines and fill narrative gaps between seasons. By publishing these bridge comics, Marvel creates a more cohesive entertainment experience for fans, allowing them to follow the complete story across both animated and comic formats. The prequel comic continues the pattern established by the first Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man comic, demonstrating Marvel’s commitment to integrating animated series with ongoing comic book narratives to enhance viewer engagement and provide extended content.
