Virtue and a Sledgehammer will begin battering down the walls and android ghosts of a hometown filled with emotional memories this October
Deconstructeam, the indie developer behind The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood, has announced October 27th as the release date for their upcoming game Virtue and a Sledgehammer. The title will launch on PC via Steam.
Virtue and a Sledgehammer centers on a protagonist returning to their hometown to confront personal trauma through an unconventional demolition project. Rather than traditional home renovation, the game involves literally battering down walls and structures of a familiar location, serving as both literal and metaphorical processing of emotional baggage and formative memories. The game is described as exploring themes of “family, traditions, and being a misfit.”
The announcement was made through a new trailer and accompanying Steam post. This marks Deconstructeam’s follow-up to The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood, which featured a fortune-telling witch designing tarot cards on an asteroid. The developer has established itself as a creator of distinctive narrative experiences that blend unconventional gameplay mechanics with emotionally resonant storytelling.
With its introspective focus on personal relationships and hometown revisitation through destructive means, Virtue and a Sledgehammer continues Deconstructeam’s approach to character-driven gaming experiences that tackle complex emotional themes.
