Arc Raiders Is Finally Getting More Endgame Content
Arc Raiders, a free-to-play cooperative shooter, has experienced a significant decline in player engagement over the past year, dropping from a peak of over 480,000 concurrent players on Steam to approximately 25,000 daily players according to SteamDB. While various factors have contributed to the decline, developers acknowledge that limited endgame content is a primary concern for the player base.
The current endgame activities revolve around defeating two colossal boss encounters—the Queen and the Matriarch—which demand the rarest weapons available and require well-coordinated teamplay to overcome. However, once players master these encounters and develop effective strategies, the lack of additional progression content leaves them with limited reasons to continue playing. This content ceiling has become a critical issue as the game struggles to retain its audience in an increasingly competitive live-service market.
The developers have announced plans to introduce additional endgame content, signaling recognition of the problem and a commitment to providing players with more long-term progression goals and engagement opportunities.
