What’s your ‘back on my bullshit’ videogame?
This is a personal gaming column by PC Gamer writer Andrea, discussing her favorite “go-to” game—the type that effortlessly consumes hours without notice. For Andrea, that game is Final Fantasy 14, where she regularly plays ranked PvP, often finding herself on losing streaks. The piece appears to be part of a recurring feature asking gaming professionals about their time-sink titles of choice. Andrea brings nearly a decade of gaming coverage experience to her column, having previously written for notable outlets including IGN, USA Today, Fanbyte, and Destructoid before joining PC Gamer’s team in 2025. Her gaming interests span older RPGs and titles featuring romance narratives with redemptive “I can fix them” themes. Beyond her professional coverage, she maintains regular engagement with MMO content, particularly achievement hunting, which occupies a permanent spot on her weekly gaming schedule.
