Jojopyun Extends LEC Contract with MKOI to 2027
Movistar KOI has secured Canadian midlaner Joseph “Jojopyun” Pyun for the 2027 LEC season through a contract extension, keeping him in the European region rather than allowing him to return to North America. The signing comes after MKOI’s strong 2026 season, where the organization finished as runners-up to G2 Esports and earned the second seed for the World Championship.
According to MKOI co-owner Ibai Llanos, the organization accelerated its offseason plans and presented Jojopyun with an ultimatum regarding his contract status before the LEC finals in Nice. The urgency stemmed from the late scheduling of this year’s League of Legends World Championship, which begins October 15, requiring roster decisions to be finalized during the competitive offseason window.
Jojopyun’s decision to remain with MKOI represents confidence in the organization’s competitive direction and marks a significant piece of continuity as they prepare for the 2027 season, hoping to challenge G2 Esports for the championship.
