Yet Another Disney+ Price Hike Is Coming — and It’s Reportedly Due This Week
Disney is raising prices for its streaming services this week, with Disney+ ad-free subscriptions increasing by $2.50 to $21.49 per month—a 13% increase that brings it closer to Netflix’s premium tier. Hulu without ads is seeing an identical price increase, while the bundled subscription of both services rises by $2 to $21.99 monthly.
According to Bloomberg, the price changes take effect immediately for new subscribers as of September 23, with existing customers required to pay the new rates at their next billing cycle. The bundle pricing structure remains competitive, with the combined service costing just 50 cents more than subscribing to each platform separately.
This marks another step in Disney’s strategy to increase subscription revenue, as the Mouse House continues to align streaming pricing with competitors. Disney+ ad-free now sits closer to Netflix’s $26.99 premium ad-free plan (which includes 4K resolution and multi-device access), reflecting the ongoing competition in the streaming market. The price adjustments come as Disney seeks to improve profitability across its streaming division.
