Noah Delays Military Service in Hope of Surprise LEC Return

Korean League of Legends pro Oh ‘Noah’ Hyeon-taek has announced his return to competitive play following his release from GIANTX in June. Noah and his former bot lane partner Jun were expected to return to South Korea for mandatory military service, effectively ending their professional careers. However, Noah revealed he has secured a delay to his mandatory service, allowing him to continue competing in the LEC next year.

During his time away from professional play, Noah has maintained his competitive edge by grinding solo queue in Korea. He has reached 1700 LP with a 70% win rate, demonstrating continued form at the highest level of play. Additionally, Noah disclosed that he has lost 18 kilograms of body weight since July, suggesting significant personal dedication to his return to professional competition.

The announcement gives hope to Noah’s fans and represents a potential opportunity for LEC teams seeking experienced bot lane talent. His ability to delay mandatory military service, which South Korean males typically must complete between ages 18-28, provides a window for at least one more year of professional play before fulfilling his national obligations.
