Pokémon Go ‘Choose Your Path Twilight Trails’ Timed Research bonuses and rewards
Pokémon Go is introducing a new iteration of its “Choose Your Path” Timed Research feature as part of the ongoing “Twilight Trails” season. Unlike previous versions, this updated research event offers a streamlined experience with fewer tasks and notably excludes Pokémon encounters.
Players can access the timed research beginning Wednesday, September 23 at 10 a.m. local time through the game’s research menu by navigating to the events tab. The event runs through Monday, September 28 at 8 p.m. local time, providing players with a limited window to complete the available tasks.
Niantic is currently testing this feature in the wild, which has resulted in varied player experiences. Some players are receiving daily research tasks, while others encounter more challenging research that persists throughout the entire event duration. This testing phase suggests the developer is gathering data on player engagement and difficulty preferences before potentially rolling out a standardized version.
The “Choose Your Path” format allows players to select their preferred research track, giving them agency in how they approach the limited-time event. This represents another example of Pokémon Go’s continuous seasonal content updates and live-service model, which keeps the mobile game fresh with regular events and research opportunities.
