Lords of the End Times is ’not the end’ for Total War: Warhammer: ‘You can’t get rid of us that easily’

Creative Assembly has confirmed that development for Total War: Warhammer will continue beyond “Lords of the End Times,” signaling an extended commitment to the franchise. In recent interviews, studio representatives disclosed ongoing plans to add more legendary characters and potentially new factions that have yet to be introduced.

The developer revealed a substantial wishlist of Warhammer characters still under consideration for future implementation. While recent expansions have already featured many fan-requested additions—including Nagash and Neferata—Creative Assembly acknowledged remaining iconic characters they would like to incorporate. The studio also mentioned the possibility of eventually featuring currently unrepresented factions such as Ind and Khuresh, though they cautioned these may not materialize.

Creative Assembly also addressed a Bretonnia faction rework, confirming it as a priority item on their development roadmap. The faction is acknowledged to show its age relative to more recently developed content. The studio attributed this situation to their improved capabilities as developers and advancements in their development tools, which would enable a superior rework compared to the faction’s original implementation.

The developers cited the extensive development time required for the Vampire Counts rework as context for expected timelines on Bretonnia. That overhaul was coupled with significant character additions that Creative Assembly suggested justified the extended wait. Their comments suggest a substantial backlog of improvements and content additions under consideration, with Norsca and Vampire Counts having previously topped their priority list before receiving their respective updates.
