Xbox Mythic Achievement Will Be Microsoft’s Version of a Platinum Trophy — And It Has an Extravagant Unlock Sound
Microsoft is set to launch Xbox Mythic Achievements, its long-awaited equivalent to PlayStation’s Platinum Trophy system. Players will earn the Mythic Achievement by unlocking all 1,000 Gamerscore in a game—meaning they must complete every single achievement in a title.
Discovered in updates to the Xbox PC app, the Mythic Achievement features a distinctive unlock sound that has been characterized as “majestic” and “incredible” by those who’ve heard it. The feature includes a unique visual badge that will appear on-screen when unlocked.
According to data found in the latest Xbox app, Mythic Achievements will be trackable through the Xbox dashboard, and players will be able to display their Mythic Achievement count on their profiles. Some Xbox Insider testers have already begun spotting references to the feature in early testing.
Xbox players have been requesting a completion-tracking system like PlayStation’s Platinum Trophy for years, making this announcement a significant response to long-standing player demand. Xbox leadership previously teased that something was in the works, and the imminent launch appears to be just around the corner.
