Armed Fantasia Canceled, Digital Bros Confirms
Armed Fantasia, a spiritual successor to the beloved Wild Arms franchise, has been officially cancelled. Publisher 505 Games and parent company Digital Bros confirmed the discontinuation through their FY2026 financial results, citing gameplay revisions, challenging market conditions, and the substantial costs required to complete the RPG as reasons for the decision.
The game was originally funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2022 that raised ¥379,328,385 (approximately $2.5 million USD). Despite its promising start, development stagnated—test footage and developer interviews on YouTube haven’t been updated in three years. The game had been in development for approximately four years following its initial reveal.
According to Digital Bros’ financial statement, Armed Fantasia was among multiple titles discontinued following “multiple attempts to revise their gameplay,” alongside Directorate: Novitiate and a sequel to the free-to-play game Battle Island. Reports indicate Sony had rejected the project at some point during development.
The cancellation marks the end of hopes for a modern successor to Wild Arms, disappointing Kickstarter backers who had supported the project in anticipation of its completion.
