Logitech’s new haptics-based gaming mouse is a little better and $20 more
Logitech has announced the G Pro X3 Superstrike gaming mouse, launching October 6th at $199.99. This is an incremental update to the G Pro X2 Superstrike, which debuted in February at $179.99.
The X3 Superstrike maintains the distinctive haptics-based button technology that sets these mice apart from traditional gaming peripherals. Rather than mechanical switches, the mouse uses haptic actuators beneath its two main buttons to generate the click sensation. This design reduces latency and enables customizable click feedback, allowing users to adjust the feel from subtle to jolty or disable it entirely.
Key improvements in the X3 model include enhanced battery life and a more responsive sensor compared to the X2. The mouse comes in two color options: bold pink or black.
The haptics-based approach represents a notable innovation in gaming mice design, offering potential performance advantages and customization options that mechanical switches cannot match. The $20 price increase from the previous generation reflects these refinements.
