Former Avalanche Studios chief Natalie Francis joins Massive Entertainment as managing director

Natalie Francis is joining Massive Entertainment as managing director effective October 1st. Francis brings extensive leadership experience in game development, having previously served as head of studio operations and development at DICE and as chief development officer at Avalanche Studios.

Massive Entertainment, a Ubisoft-owned subsidiary, is known for developing major AAA titles including Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and the recently launched Star Wars Outlaws. In her new role, Francis will lead the studio’s continued efforts to establish itself as one of Ubisoft’s premier development teams.

Francis expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity, stating: “Massive Entertainment has an extraordinary history, built by incredibly talented people and a culture that cares deeply about craft and quality. I’m excited to build on that foundation and help create the conditions for the studio and its people to thrive in its next chapter.”

The announcement also references Christoph Hartmann’s role as general manager for Creative House 2, one of the structural subdivisions within the broader organization.
