The Best News For Saw: Genesis Is We Have To Wait Longer To Play It

Bloober Team has announced that SAW: Genesis, an asymmetrical multiplayer horror game based on the Saw film franchise, will delay its early access launch from late 2026 to Q1 2027. The developer stated it needs additional time to polish the title and improve performance based on extensive player feedback received during testing.

SAW: Genesis is a 3-on-1 multiplayer experience where one player controls the Jigsaw-like judge character while three other players take on the role of the accused, completing challenges and searching for keys to escape before time runs out. The title enters a crowded multiplayer horror game space pioneered by Dead by Daylight, where strong first impressions are critical due to intense competition.

Bloober Team emphasized that the delay reflects their commitment to meeting the high expectations of the Saw franchise fanbase rather than rushing an unpolished product to market. The decision to extend development time rather than launch through early access as initially planned suggests the studio believes a more complete product at launch will better serve long-term player retention and critical reception in this competitive genre.
