Astro Bot’s 276 Piece LEGO Set Immortalises the PS5 Icon with Interchangeable Eyes
LEGO is bringing PlayStation’s beloved Astro Bot to life with a 276-piece buildable figure set. The set will be available for free as a bundled promotional item with the LEGO PlayStation 1 set, launching next month. The Astro Bot figure features interchangeable eyes, allowing fans to customize the character’s expression, making it a collectible representation of one of PlayStation’s most iconic modern characters.
Astro Bot has evolved from a technical demonstration into a major PlayStation franchise over the past decade. The character first appeared as a tech demo in the PS4 launch title The Playroom VR, where it showcased the console’s capabilities. Since then, Astro Bot has become synonymous with PlayStation innovation and has grown into a beloved mascot for the brand, culminating in recent major releases that have solidified its status as a PS5 icon.
This LEGO collaboration represents the broader trend of gaming IP being adapted into physical collectibles and toys, allowing fans to engage with their favorite characters beyond the digital realm. The free bundling with the LEGO PS1 set suggests a coordinated marketing effort between LEGO and PlayStation to drive interest in both products, targeting collectors, nostalgic fans of classic PlayStation, and newer audiences discovering Astro Bot.
