Enjoy 1986’s Castlevania for Free on Your Phone for 40th Anniversary
Konami is celebrating the 40th anniversary of Castlevania (1986) by offering the original NES game free on mobile platforms. The classic title is available for download on iOS and Android until October 24th, 2026, providing players a month to claim the game at no cost.
The anniversary promotion extends across multiple platforms beyond mobile. PlayStation Store and Steam both feature discounted Castlevania retro compilations, with PlayStation discounts reaching up to 80% off select bundles.
The multi-platform campaign reflects Konami’s approach to game preservation and franchise engagement. By providing free access to the foundational 1986 title on modern mobile devices, the promotion makes the influential horror-action game accessible to new audiences while also driving sales of related collections. This combination of free access and commercial offers leverages the franchise’s 40-year milestone to reach both longtime fans and players discovering Castlevania for the first time.
