Meta unveils AI-powered game tools for mobile devices and browsers; announces VR Glasses with day-one Unity support
Meta has announced two new AI-powered game development tools designed to simplify the game creation process. Revealed during Meta Connect this week, Horizon Create and Horizon Studio leverage the Meta Horizon Engine’s agentic capabilities to enable developers to create 2D and 3D games using natural language prompts. Horizon Create targets mobile developers, while Horizon Studio is designed for browser-based development.
Both tools share a unified backend infrastructure, enabling assets, systems, and development history to transfer seamlessly between mobile and browser platforms. This design aims to eliminate traditional barriers to game development—months of labor-intensive work and expensive hardware requirements—by allowing developers of all skill levels to generate playable games through conversational prompts.
Meta’s announcement reflects growing industry investment in AI-assisted creative tools for game development. By making game development more accessible through AI capabilities, Meta positions itself as a platform provider for the next generation of game creators. The integration between Horizon Create and Horizon Studio suggests a comprehensive approach to supporting game development across multiple device types and interfaces.
