Horizon Create users can make games with a prompt and publish on Instagram and Facebook, says Meta
Meta unveiled its new Horizon Create app and Studio toolset at Meta Connect, enabling users to generate entire games from text prompts. The Create app allows players to describe their game concept, which the Horizon Engine then builds automatically. Users can also browse and remix games created by others while awaiting their own game compilation.
A companion Horizon Studio tool offers more granular, browser-based game creation controls for users preferring deeper creative customization. Both tools are fully interoperable, enabling seamless workflow transitions between the mobile app and web platform.
Once complete, games can be instantly published across Meta’s ecosystem—including Facebook, Instagram, and Horizon. This integrated publishing pipeline removes traditional distribution barriers, allowing creators to reach Meta’s combined billions of users directly.
The announcement targets the intersection of generative AI and gaming creation, lowering technical barriers for aspiring game developers. Meta did not provide a launch date for either tool, indicating they remain in development or limited testing phases. The initiative represents Meta’s broader bet on creator tools and user-generated content as engagement drivers across its platforms.
