PapaSmithy Apologizes for FlyQuest Co-Streaming Video Before LCS Playoff Clash, but Caedrel Contends Details of Past ‘Apology’

Christopher ‘PapaSmithy’ Smith, President and Chief Gaming Officer of esports organization FlyQuest, has apologized for a controversial League of Legends co-streaming video that drew significant backlash from the community. The video prominently featured content creators Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont and Christian ‘IWDominate’ Rivera as negative examples of co-streaming practices.

In his public apology posted on X (formerly Twitter), PapaSmithy characterized the video as a “misfire” that “missed the mark.” He acknowledged the important role that creators like Caedrel and IWDominate play in the esports ecosystem, stating that “League of Legends esports still thrives in 2026 because of the hard work and community building of creators like Caedrel & IWDominate.”

The controversy emerged during a difficult period for FlyQuest, with Caedrel’s community mobilizing to express disapproval of the video. The incident occurred ahead of LCS playoff matches. In response to the criticism, FlyQuest removed the video from public view by unlisting it from the organization’s YouTube channel.

The apology highlights ongoing tensions within the esports community regarding co-streaming practices and the relationship between professional esports organizations and independent content creators who help drive engagement and viewership for competitive gaming.
