Persona 4 Revival’s New Character Isn’t a Social Link After All
Atlus has announced that Persona 4 Revival, the upcoming remake of the original Persona 4, will feature a new character named Aika Nakamura as part of the expanded cast. However, there has been confusion regarding her role in the game.
Initially, Aika was described as a “social link character,” which refers to the Persona series’ signature relationship-building mechanic. This designation appeared prominently in the English version of the second Persona 4 Revival broadcast aired on September 19. However, Atlus clarified the situation on September 24, posting on X (formerly Twitter) to correct the record: “Aika is indeed a location-episode character and not a social link.”
The distinction between these two character types suggests Aika will have a different role in Revival compared to traditional social link characters. While the exact nature of a location-episode character remains unclear, the correction indicates her involvement in the game may be more limited than a full social link relationship would typically entail.
