Unicorn Overlord Director’s Upcoming Action RPG Looks Expectedly Beautiful
Takafumi Noma, director of acclaimed 2024 action strategy game Unicorn Overlord, has announced his next project through a new studio called Ignisphere. The new title, Dawngazer, is an action RPG set to release in 2028 and will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5.
Ignisphere is a fantasy-focused studio partnering with Monochrome Corporation (developers of Grand Kingdom) under publisher Good Smile Company. Beyond the video game, the studio is planning an expanded cross-media franchise that includes light novels, signaling an ambitious approach to the intellectual property’s launch.
Details about Dawngazer’s gameplay and narrative remain limited at this stage, though the announcement has generated significant interest given Noma’s track record with Vanillaware and the critical success of Unicorn Overlord.
