Minecraft LIVE September 2026 Live Report — All the News as It Happens
Minecraft Live 2026 brought major announcements for the sandbox game, with the headline being The Sift—the first new dimension for Minecraft in 14 years, arriving in both Java and Bedrock Edition in 2027.
Mojang revealed several upcoming additions to the game. Ice Caves are confirmed as the next game drop, while Sound Effects Packs will launch on the Minecraft Marketplace later this year. Minecraft World, the physical theme park experience, received an update detailing plans for a new hotel and rollercoaster.
The event provided extensive coverage of Minecraft Dungeons 2, launching September 29 across multiple platforms. The dungeon-crawler sequel features an expanded, interconnected world with deeper character customization and enhanced combat mechanics, with players able to explore the new Sift dimension within the game.
Mojang also announced new creator initiatives to support content creators in the Minecraft ecosystem.
Notably absent was an announcement regarding an End dimension update, disappointing fans who had speculated based on Enderman imagery in promotional materials. The announcements demonstrate Mojang’s continued commitment to evolving the game and its expanding ecosystem nearly two decades after its initial release.
