MobyGames video game database now lets developers claim their game credits

MobyGames, the comprehensive video game database, has launched a new premium service tier called MobyGames Professional that enables developers to claim credits for games they’ve worked on and create customized personal portfolio pages. The service, which entered beta testing in June with a full 1.0 release planned for autumn, implements a verification process to authenticate developer contributions and ensure credit accuracy.

According to product manager Reece Denzel, the response has been strong, with thousands of developers already signing up and claiming their pages during the beta phase. The portfolio functionality allows developers to showcase their work, credentials, and gaming contributions through a dedicated profile on the platform.

This initiative addresses a long-standing challenge in the video game industry: the often overlooked or poorly documented nature of developer credits. By providing an official, verified mechanism within MobyGames’ established database, developers now have a centralized location to maintain and publicly display their professional work history and contributions to the medium.
