PS5’s Welcome Hub Adds Animated The Last of Us Wallpaper
Sony has added a new animated The Last of Us wallpaper to the PS5’s Welcome Hub, the customizable home screen that greets users when they boot their console. The wallpaper appears to have been released in celebration of The Last of Us Day, an annual commemoration of the popular franchise. The update was first identified by the gaming community and aligns with broader The Last of Us Day celebrations, which typically include various partnerships, collaborations, and franchise announcements across the gaming and entertainment industries. As part of these celebrations, Naughty Dog and Sony have previously announced casting news for the upcoming Season 3 of The Last of Us television adaptation. The Welcome Hub customization feature allows PS5 owners to personalize their console’s appearance, and the addition of this animated wallpaper provides fans with a way to display their appreciation for the beloved franchise directly on their system. This move continues the industry trend of major publishers creating themed cosmetics and seasonal content to mark significant franchise anniversaries and special events throughout the year.
