Minecraft is getting its first new dimension in 14 years, and it’s called The Sift
Minecraft is receiving its first new dimension in over 14 years. Called The Sift, the new realm will join the Overworld, the Nether, and The End when it launches on Java and Bedrock Edition in 2027. Since The End was added in 2011, no new dimensions have been introduced to the base game.
Mojang announced The Sift during Minecraft Live on September 26th. The dimension features a distinctive aesthetic with a riotously pink environment, including pink grass beneath a turquoise sky. Early visuals revealed bunny-like creatures that walk rather than hop, suggesting unique mob designs compared to existing Minecraft creatures.
The Sift will make its first appearance in Minecraft Dungeons 2, which launches on September 29th, before arriving in the main Minecraft game next year. Mojang has maintained most details about the dimension under wraps, but confirmed that The Sift will introduce new biomes, mobs, and distinctive ways to play and explore.
