Arc Raiders is messing with your loot hotspots to make games more exciting
Arc Raiders is implementing a dynamic loot rotation system for its upcoming Frozen Trails update, targeting the Pendola Pass map. The new feature randomizes which areas contain high-value loot from session to session, moving away from the previous static system.
Traditionally, Arc Raiders marked different zones on its maps with color-coded indicators—yellow and red zones—to show players where valuable loot could be found. This system, while informative, created predictable gameplay patterns where experienced players would routinely hit the same high-value locations every session.
The new rotation system changes this dynamic by shuffling loot values between zones across play sessions. If a point of interest (POI) offered high-value loot in one session, it may transition to medium or low value in the next session, with other locations gaining higher value in turn. This approach encourages players to explore different areas and prevents the map from becoming stale or overly optimized into a single optimal route.
Developers have indicated this feature has been a frequent community request, and they’re testing it extensively on Pendola Pass before potentially rolling it out more broadly. The system represents the studio’s commitment to maintaining engaging, varied gameplay experiences in their live-service title.
