First-Ever LoL WSCI Finals Will Crown a French or Korean Champion

The World Star Challenger Invitational (WSCI), the inaugural world championship for tier-two League of Legends teams, will crown its first champion on Friday, October 2nd, following the semi-finals. Four teams remain from the original 16-team field, with both semi-final matchups featuring a France vs Korea pairing: Solary against DN SOOPers Challengers, and Galions against T1 Esports Academy.

Solary, the EMEA Masters Winter champions, are favored to advance after a dominant tournament performance. The French team has won 8 of 9 matches and secured a 3-1 quarter-final victory over Movistar KOI Fénix, maintaining an impressive record despite dropping out of the LFL Summer Playoffs early. Their consistent play has established them as the team to beat heading into the semi-finals.

The WSCI represents a milestone for tier-two competitive League of Legends, providing teams outside top professional leagues with a global stage to compete for the inaugural world championship title. The tournament format ensures that the finals will feature at least one representative from either France or Korea, highlighting the strength of both regions’ secondary competitive scenes.
