GTA 6 Won’t Spoof Disney World, And That’s Too Bad

Game Informer has published an exclusive 14-page cover story on Grand Theft Auto 6 containing numerous new details about Rockstar’s massive open world. The map, called Leonida and based on Florida, is Rockstar’s largest to date—approximately twice the size of GTA 5’s map. The game features a re-engineered weather system that includes dynamic tropical storms and hurricanes, reflecting Florida’s intense climate patterns.

Wildlife has been significantly expanded, with over 170 animal species inhabiting Leonida. The roster includes many species never before seen in Rockstar games, such as manatees, flamingos, pelicans, alligators, and nine-banded armadillos, alongside native Florida species and invasive creatures. The animal framework builds on technology developed for Red Dead Redemption 2.

The game will feature numerous side activities, including mini-golf, kayaking, scuba diving, and backyard wrestling. While the full Florida experience is promised, Rockstar confirmed that Orlando’s central tourist region—including Walt Disney World and Universal Studios—will not be represented with dedicated spoofs.

The exclusive reveal crashed Game Informer’s website and app due to overwhelming traffic, as the outlet made the story free to all users on its mobile app. The chaos lasted approximately an hour before access stabilized. Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to release on November 19, 2026.
