Konami Could be Bringing Back Other Old IPs Like Soldier Blade, New Trademark Reveals

Konami has re-registered trademarks for three classic video game titles originally developed by Hudson Soft: Soldier Blade, Alien Crush, and Star Soldier. These games were released in the late 1980s and early 1990s, representing a portion of Hudson Soft’s back catalog that Konami acquired when it absorbed the studio approximately two decades ago.

The trademark re-registrations were discovered in recent filings and suggest Konami is protecting its intellectual property rights for these legacy titles. While such trademark renewals are typically routine administrative actions to maintain ownership of classic IPs, the move has sparked speculation about potential future plans for these franchises.

Konami has historically revisited its older game libraries through re-releases and collections on contemporary gaming platforms, making it plausible that these newly re-registered trademarks could signal upcoming ports or compilations. However, the publisher has not made any official announcements regarding new projects based on these properties.
