How to get the Griffin armor in The Witcher 3
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered features multiple witcher gear sets that players can acquire through crafting, each offering distinct gameplay benefits and playstyles. Four primary armor sets are available: the Griffin School gear (level 11) focuses on sign power and Yrden enhancements; the Wolven armor (level 14) serves as an all-rounder buffing signs, attacks, and adrenaline; the Feline armor (level 17) operates as a light glass-cannon set with backstab mechanics and attack bonuses; and the Ursine armor (level 20) is the only heavy set, prioritizing damage resistance. Each set consists of four armor pieces and two swords, with Ursine uniquely including a crossbow.
Diagrams for these sets are scattered across different regions—Griffin diagrams are in Velen, Wolven in Kaer Mohern, Feline in Novigrad, and Ursine in Skellige—requiring players to defeat various monsters including wraiths, endrega, ekimmara, sirens, and gargoyles. Upgrade diagrams can be purchased from master blacksmiths and armorers throughout the game world, with quest completion often required first.
A significant quality-of-life feature in the Remastered version is the transmog system, allowing players to reskin armor and swords at two master smiths: Yoana at Crow’s Perch for armor and Éibhear Hattori in Novigrad for swords. Any armor or weapon collected automatically unlocks as a cosmetic skin, with each swap costing 100-200 coin. The remaster also includes new options for simulating Witcher 2 save data and console-specific graphics modes balancing performance and ray tracing.
