Xbox’s New Mythic Achievements Will Show Exactly How Close You Are To 100%

Microsoft has officially announced Mythic Achievements for Xbox, finally introducing its own version of PlayStation’s Platinum Trophy system nearly two decades after Sony created that standard. The feature is now rolling out to Xbox Insiders starting today and will eventually reach all Xbox and PC players.

Mythic Achievements are earned when players unlock every original achievement in a single game. Achievements added through DLC or post-launch updates do not count toward Mythic status, and once earned, the achievement is permanent and cannot be lost if new content is released. Players will receive a 15-second notification upon earning Mythic status in a game.

A significant aspect of the rollout is retroactive application: players who have already completed all achievements in any Xbox games—including older Xbox 360 titles—will automatically receive Mythic Achievement recognition when they next visit their profile. A new Gaming tab has been added to player profiles, centralizing achievement tracking and progress visualization to help players see how close they are to 100% completion in their library.

This addresses a long-standing request from Xbox players who lacked an equivalent to PlayStation’s prestigious Platinum Trophy system introduced in 2008. With Mythic Achievements, Xbox now provides a unified way to celebrate full game completion across both consoles and PC.
