Monster Hunter Wilds on Switch 2 runs at a stable 30FPS, but it took Capcom a “painstaking, seemingly endless process” to get there

Monster Hunter Wilds is launching on Switch 2 on December 5th running at a stable 30FPS frame rate, representing another technically impressive port for Capcom on Nintendo’s new console. The achievement required what Capcom engineers described as a “painstaking, seemingly endless process” of optimization to deliver consistent performance on the hybrid hardware.

The Switch 2 version will ship with all accumulated free DLC updates and new monsters, ensuring feature parity with other platforms at launch. Local co-op support will be included, connecting back to the franchise’s handheld heritage through Gathering Hall sessions previously available on PSP and 3DS.

This port continues Capcom’s successful track record with Switch 2, following well-received releases including Pragmata and Resident Evil Requiem. The developer’s extensive technical work on these projects has established the company as particularly adept at bringing ambitious titles to Nintendo’s new hardware while maintaining stable performance.
