6 Switch 2 Games Releasing in October 2026 You Officially Cannot Miss
October 2026 remains a busy month for Switch 2, despite November’s major releases including Grand Theft Auto 6 and the Switch 2 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The platform will see significant library expansion throughout October with a wave of ports and enhanced versions of existing titles.
Notable releases include upgraded ports of both Octopath Traveler games and Minecraft, bringing enhanced versions to the new hardware. Nintendo is releasing its traditional monthly exclusive—a major casual and family gaming title that marks a significant comeback in that genre. Square Enix is contributing a retro RPG to the platform’s growing library.
A major AAA multiplatform title is also expected to arrive on Switch 2 during the month. The diverse slate underscores strong third-party support for the system and Nintendo’s commitment to maintaining a varied game library. While overshadowed by the blockbuster titles launching in November, October’s releases demonstrate the platform’s appeal across multiple gaming demographics and genres during one of the industry’s peak release periods.
