Ted: The Animated Series Announced With Original Movie Cast Returning
Peacock has announced the premiere of TED: The Animated Series, an animated continuation of the live-action Ted film franchise. The series launches on December 17 with eight episodes, with additional episodes arriving in 2027.
The show serves as a direct sequel to 2012’s Ted and 2015’s Ted 2, created by Seth MacFarlane, Paul Corrigan, and Brad Walsh. The production maintains continuity with the original films through its returning cast: MacFarlane reprises his iconic voice role as Ted, Mark Wahlberg returns as John (Ted’s best friend), Amanda Seyfried voices John’s wife Sam, and Jessica Barth plays Ted’s wife Tami-Lynn. The series also features newcomers Kyle Mooney and Liz Richman in the ensemble.
The announcement underscores Peacock’s strategy of extending popular franchises into new formats while leveraging established talent. A teaser trailer showcasing the animation style and tone is now available, offering audiences a preview of how the animated medium will interpret the franchise’s signature comedic sensibilities.
