The Witcher 3 hits its highest-ever Steam concurrent player count following Remastered launch
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has reached its highest concurrent player count on Steam, surpassing 120,000 players following the launch of CD Projekt Red’s free Remastered edition. This milestone marks a significant resurgence for the 11-year-old RPG, which now definitively tops all of its previous Steam concurrency records.
The achievement far exceeds the game’s previous peaks: 92,000 concurrent players at its original 2015 launch, 103,000 in January 2020 when Netflix’s Witcher series generated mainstream interest, and 89,000 in December 2022 around a next-generation console update. The Remastered edition’s free distribution has clearly resonated with both returning players and newcomers to the franchise.
Beyond Steam, The Witcher 3 is available across multiple platforms and storefronts, including GOG, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S. This broad multi-platform availability indicates that the actual global concurrent player count is substantially higher than the Steam-specific figures.
