‘Croc 2’ Is Getting The Remaster Treatment Later This Month
Argonaut Games has announced that a remaster of Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos is in development and will release on multiple platforms in late 2026. The sequel’s remaster will launch on Nintendo Switch in Q4 2026, while PlayStation versions targeting both PS5 and PS4 are scheduled for October 29, 2026.
This announcement represents the fulfillment of a promise Argonaut Games made following the successful launch of the original Croc: Legend of the Gobbos remaster last year. The developers indicated at that time that strong market performance would justify moving forward with remastering the sequel, and the company has now confirmed development is underway. Notably, the new remaster uses the game’s original development title, Kingdom of the Gobbos, rather than the retail release name from its initial PlayStation 1 publication.
The Croc franchise, a beloved platformer series that originated in the 1990s, continues to find audiences among both nostalgic players and newcomers through these modernized rereleases. The remasters aim to bring the classic titles to contemporary gaming hardware with updated visuals and modernized features, while maintaining the core gameplay that made the original games memorable.
