The Division studio Massive expands to take control of Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon, and a new IP, in Ubisoft’s most recent reorganisation

Ubisoft has significantly expanded Massive Entertainment’s scope, positioning the Swedish studio as a major development hub within the company. Massive, previously known for The Division series, Star Wars Outlaws, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, will now oversee multiple franchises including Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell. The expansion incorporates the Creative House 2 cluster of studios under Massive’s leadership and includes supervision of a new original title, March of Giants, described as a World War fantasy MOBA with a dieselpunk aesthetic.

This reorganization is part of Ubisoft’s broader restructuring toward a “creative house” model, initiated following a substantial funding injection from Tencent in March 2025. That investment specifically established a creative house dedicated to the Assassin’s Creed franchise. The new structure consolidates multiple studios and brands under unified creative and technical leadership, allowing Massive to leverage its proven expertise in AAA game development across a broader portfolio.

The move reflects Ubisoft’s strategy to streamline operations by concentrating multiple franchises under fewer major organizational umbrellas, potentially improving coordination and resource allocation across its expanding portfolio of games and studios worldwide.
