‘Pokémon’ Will Surprise Fans With the TCG’s First Valentine’s Day Set

The Pokémon Company has announced plans to release the franchise’s first-ever Valentine’s Day-themed trading card set in 2027. According to Pokémon TCG news outlet Poké Beach, the set will launch as a limited-time release rather than a standard expansion like the recently announced Delta Reign or upcoming Pokémon ex★ sets.

The new Valentine’s Day set is expected to follow a similar format to the company’s previous holiday-themed releases, particularly the Halloween-focused “Trick or Trade” set, which featured 30 cards centered around ghost and dark-type Pokémon. The upcoming Valentine’s release will likely feature romance and love-themed cards and imagery corresponding to the holiday.

This addition to the TCG’s release calendar demonstrates the Pokémon Company’s strategy to expand its trading card game offerings beyond standard expansion sets. By creating limited-time, holiday-specific releases, the company taps into seasonal interest and creates urgency for collectors and players to acquire these exclusive cards before they disappear from shelves.
