If Ace Combat’s too pricey, this excellent indie alternative is on sale for just $12.50
Project Wingman, an indie fighter jet game inspired by Ace Combat, is currently available at a steep discount during the Steam Autumn Sale for $12.50, positioning itself as an affordable alternative to Ace Combat 8’s $70 price tag.
Originally developed as a portfolio piece, Project Wingman evolved into a full independent project backed by community support. The game successfully launched on Kickstarter, exceeding its funding goal by nearly 200%, demonstrating strong player demand for arcade-style flight combat games.
The indie title has received recognition for delivering compelling dogfighting gameplay mechanics comparable to the Ace Combat franchise. The current promotional pricing on Steam makes it an accessible entry point for players interested in exploring arcade flight combat without committing to a premium AAA purchase.
This sale exemplifies the indie gaming sector’s capacity to provide quality alternatives to expensive mainstream releases, particularly in specialized genres like arcade flight simulation.
