Jason Jones, Co-Creator of Halo and Destiny and Co-Founder of Bungie, Announces New Studio
Jason Jones, co-founder of Bungie and co-creator of Halo and Destiny, has announced Stone Kite, a new Los Angeles-based entertainment studio designed to create content across multiple mediums including games, books, comics, film, and television.
The studio is established as a partnership with Margaret Stohl, a veteran Bungie creative professional who has authored 14 books and worked on numerous game and Marvel Comics projects. Stohl serves as Stone Kite’s CEO. Stone Kite’s first release is One Zero One, a limited-series comic book developed from a manuscript written by Jones.
Stohl articulated the studio’s core philosophy of transcending traditional medium boundaries, emphasizing that Stone Kite aims to challenge how stories are developed and distributed across platforms, rather than allowing the initial medium to define the entire creative direction of a project.
