Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV showcases the Space Marines
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV, the highly anticipated real-time strategy sequel, has unveiled a new cinematic trailer showcasing upcoming gameplay and factions ahead of its December 3, 2026 release on PC. The trailer features an epic confrontation between two of the game’s playable factions: the superhuman Space Marines of the Imperium and the mechanical, alien Necrons.
Unlike previous entries in the series that primarily focused on the Blood Ravens chapter, Dawn of War IV will feature multiple playable Space Marine Chapters. The new trailer highlights the Dark Angels, one of several Space Marine factions players can command. The Blood Ravens, the protagonist faction from the original beloved RTS games, will also be available as a playable option, though they won’t be the sole Space Marine representation.
The inclusion of the Necrons as a playable faction alongside the Space Marines demonstrates the game’s commitment to faction variety. These mechanical aliens represent one of the Warhammer 40,000 universe’s most formidable foes, providing strategic gameplay options distinct from the forces of the Imperium.
As a long-awaited sequel to a beloved real-time strategy series, Dawn of War IV aims to deliver the large-scale, cinematic battles and strategic depth that defined the franchise, while expanding player choice through multiple chapter and faction options. The combination of iconic Warhammer 40K imagery, diverse playable factions, and the game’s December release window positions it as a major title for RTS fans and Warhammer enthusiasts.
