‘In the Eternal Fire’s Shadow’ quest walkthrough in The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt
In the Eternal Fire’s Shadow is a quest in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt added through the game’s next-generation console update in December 2022. Players assist an Eternal Fire Deacon at the Devil’s Pit, an abandoned mine located in Velen’s central region.
The quest rewards the Forgotten Wolf School armor diagrams, which unlock the Forgotten Wolf School armor set. This armor is notably modeled after the distinctive suit worn by protagonist Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s The Witcher series adaptation, appealing to players seeking Netflix-inspired cosmetics.
The quest features multiple possible endings, offering different narrative outcomes and rewards based on player choices. This branching structure reflects The Witcher 3’s core design philosophy emphasizing player agency and meaningful consequences.
The quest’s inclusion in the next-gen update demonstrates CD Projekt Red’s continued commitment to expanding content for the long-supported game across multiple platforms.
