Fast & Furious Is Officially Getting an Unexpected Release in 2028

The Fast & Furious franchise is expanding to television with an official Peacock series greenlight. The streaming platform plans to debut the show in 2028, coinciding with the theatrical release of “Fast Forever,” which has been marketed as the film series’ finale.

Mike Daniels (“Sons of Anarchy,” “Shades of Blue”) and Wolfe Coleman (“Shades of Blue,” “9-1-1: Lone Star”) will serve as showrunners and executive producers, with both writing the pilot. Star Vin Diesel will executive produce the series, continuing his involvement with the franchise beyond his acting role.

The announcement formalizes what Diesel had previously teased in May regarding a series in development. The move reflects a broader industry trend of extending successful film properties into streaming television, suggesting the franchise’s creators intend to expand the Fast & Furious universe across multiple platforms rather than concluding it entirely with the final theatrical film.
