Supercell, Rovio, Playdemic, First Touch, Sybo and more back SpecialEffect’s One Special Day
Major mobile game publishers have rallied to support SpecialEffect, a UK disability charity, through the One Special Day campaign on October 2. Participating studios—including Supercell, Rovio, Sybo, Playdemic, Miniclip, and others—are donating a percentage of their UK player revenue for the day to the organization.
The initiative encompasses several of the world’s most popular mobile titles, including Clash of Clans, Brawl Stars, Clash Royale, Angry Birds 2, Golf Clash, Subway Surfers, Dream League Soccer, and 8 Ball Pool, among others. The broad industry participation underscores the mobile gaming sector’s commitment to accessibility and charitable causes.
SpecialEffect is known for providing assessments and customized technology loans that enable physically disabled people to play games, helping them find solutions tailored to their abilities. The charity also leverages its experience to inform hardware manufacturers about accessibility improvements, creating a feedback loop that benefits the broader gaming community. Events like One Special Day raise funds while increasing awareness of the organization’s vital work in making gaming more inclusive.
