Pokémon Go ‘Harvest Festival Taken Over’ 2026 event guide
Pokémon Go’s 2026 Harvest Festival event is now underway, running through October 5. The event introduces two new shiny Pokémon variants: shiny Applin during the main festival and shiny Shroodle during the Team Go Rocket Takeover segment.
During the first phase, players can collect apples by deploying Mossy Lure Modules on PokéStops. Tapping apples on the ground yields either apple items or direct Pokémon encounters, providing a focused mechanic for hunting the newly available shiny Applin variant.
The event’s second component features a Team Go Rocket Takeover with refreshed rosters for operatives and Giovanni. During the takeover, standard event bonuses remain active, including increased spawn rates of Team Go Rocket balloons and members at PokéStops. Players can also use Charged TMs to remove Frustration from their Pokémon—a valuable feature for optimizing competitive movesets.
The Harvest Festival demonstrates Pokémon Go’s ongoing approach to seasonal content, balancing collection-focused mechanics for casual players with competitive PvP tools for serious trainers. The two-week event structure reflects the game’s continued live-service model of regular updates designed to maintain engagement across its player base.
