Poll: How Many ‘Mythic’ Xbox Achievements Do You Reckon You’ll Have?

Microsoft has officially unveiled Mythic Achievements, Xbox’s long-awaited equivalent to PlayStation’s Platinum Trophies. The feature began rolling out to Xbox Insiders this week, with a full public release expected in the coming weeks.

Mythic Achievements are earned when players complete all “original achievements” in a game, offering recognition for comprehensive game completion. Importantly, the system does not require players to obtain DLC achievements or complete achievements added in post-launch title updates, focusing exclusively on the base game’s original achievement list.

A significant aspect of the rollout is that Xbox is backdating Mythic Achievement completions to the Xbox 360 era, meaning players’ historical game completions from that console generation will be retroactively counted toward their profiles. This allows a broad user base to immediately see their Mythic Achievement progress and recognition.

The introduction of Mythic Achievements represents Microsoft’s direct response to PlayStation’s long-established Platinum Trophy system, providing Xbox players with similar achievement-completion recognition and giving completionists a coveted badge to display across their accounts.
