The 7 Best Games Like Hollow Knight: Silksong to Speed Up the Wait for Sea of Sorrows
Team Cherry announced a DLC expansion for Hollow Knight: Silksong called Sea of Sorrows, initially slated for 2026 release. However, with the year nearing its end and no release date provided, the expansion remains shrouded in uncertainty.
This situation echoes the extended development history of Silksong itself, which began as planned DLC for the original Hollow Knight before evolving into a full standalone sequel. The delay pattern demonstrates Team Cherry’s characteristic long development cycles, making the current silence around Sea of Sorrows less surprising to longtime fans familiar with the studio’s timeline expectations.
In response to the uncertainty, Polygon has curated a list of seven games across various genres designed to appeal to Hollow Knight: Silksong fans seeking alternative entertainment during the wait. The recommendations begin with Blue Fire, offering players similar gaming experiences to explore while awaiting official news on the Sea of Sorrows expansion. The feature acknowledges that fans may face an indefinite wait, providing a practical solution for maintaining engagement with comparable titles in the interim.
