Arc Raiders and The Finals are getting film and TV adaptations in collaboration with the Backrooms production company

Embark Studios’ action shooters Arc Raiders and The Finals are being adapted into television series and films through a deal with production company Chernin Entertainment. The announcement follows Chernin’s recent success with this year’s Backrooms horror film, and the production company was selected over several competitors for the adaptation rights.

Embark Studios founder and CEO Patrick Söderlund described the partnership as “the next big step in growing Arc Raiders and The Finals into deeply integrated transmedia experiences that reward the passion of our global player community.” He confirmed that Embark’s creative teams will work closely with Chernin Entertainment to ensure both games’ defining creative qualities extend into the new film and television formats.

Chernin Entertainment will serve as lead producer on both the television series and films. The expansion reflects the ongoing industry trend of adapting video games for film and television audiences. Arc Raiders particularly noted a strong launch, while The Finals has built an engaged player community. Nexon, which owns Embark Studios, supports this transmedia strategy as a way to expand both franchises’ reach beyond their original gaming medium and introduce new audiences to the titles.
